CPH Half anticipating record breaking crowd in 2020

Copenhagen Half Marathon – With a sold out 2019 race and a World Record to top off what has been one of the most successful races in Denmark, the interest for the 2020 version is expected to be huge when the sign up process open up December 2nd.

CPH Half anticipating record breaking crowd in 2020

With a field comprised of close to 25% international runners, the interest from abroad is expected to be even bigger this year as the course has now proven to be…well, the world’s fastest half marathon course.

CPH Half could also see a spike in participants from other European cities such as Lisbon, Prague, Cardiff and Valencia due to the new SuperHalfs series that CPH Half has joined.

European Attraction

With joining SuperHalfs, CPH Half is in an exclusive group of large quality races, that are all located in Europe. As the Half Marathon is becoming the more popular distance to run and travel to, then SuperHalfs is in the perfect position to attract European runners because of the ease of traveling to the destination and the possibility to recover and still be able to explorer the city after the race.

Records got the attention of the World

This year’s event saw several records shattered at the CPH Half. Even before the race began, the organizer could celebrate that the event sold out for the first time with 25.000 runners.

The second record came less than an hour later when the world record was broken by Geoffrey Kamworor with a finishing time of 58.01 minutes.
