Shawnacy Barber

Shawnacy Barber of Toronto, Ont., has a new personal best in the men’s Pole vault. His jump of 5.08-metres at the New Balance Nationals in New York, New York is also a new Canadian Junior record improving Taylor Petrucha’s mark of 5.00-metres established in 2006.  

Shane Favit of Etobicoke, Ont., set a new Canadian Youth record in the 1 mile. Shane’s time of 4:28.59 was recorded at the same competition in New York surpassing the 2011 mark of 4:30.27 by Antoine Thibeault.

    That’s not Shawnacy’s photo.
    Shawnacy won the Texas Relays elite high school boys section Friday night with a 5.35m clear.

    This is not a picture of Shawnacy Barber, rather it is Tim Mack from 2 years ago, winning the USA indoor track and field championships. No wonder the face was cut out of the picture!

    What I can’t figure out is… does Shawnacy Barber live in Toronto or Texas?

    Shawnacy winters in Texas but will be back up in Canada this summer.
    We’re looking forward to Canada games and trials.
