Ottawa – Athletics Canada’s Hall of Fame will grow by ten when the class of 2013 is officially inducted in Moncton, New-Brunswick on June 20, 2013.  Five athletes, one coach, three in memoriam and one builder will be enriched at a special ceremony held in conjunction with the Canadian Championships and World Trials. The winners will be unveiled next Wednesday December 19, and will be honoured during the 2013 Canadian Championships in Moncton, N.B. OTTAWA- Athletics Canada is pleased to announce the five athletes, coach, builder and three in memoriam inductees who will be enriched as part of the class of 2012.  Charmaine Crooks of Vancouver, B.C., Milton “Milt” Ottey of Toronto, Ont., Guillaume LeBlanc of Sept-Îles, Que., Dave Steen of New Westminster, B.C., and Bruny Surin of Montreal, Que., will be inducted in the athlete category.  Lyle Sanderson of Regina, Sask., will join the hall in the coach category while Bob Adams of Regina, Sask., enters as a builder.  Completing the class of 2012 are in memoriam inductees Myrtle Cook of Toronto, Ont., Fred Foot from Toronto, Ont., and Harry Jerome of Prince Albert, Sask. OTTAWA – Athletics Canada announced today its 2011 annual award winners with Dylan Armstrong of Kamloops, B.C., getting the nod in three categories. Armstrong was chosen as overall athlete of the year, as most outstanding athlete in field events, and, as winner of the outstanding performance of the year.  The winners are chosen by Athletics Canada’s Awards Committee from the nominee pool put forward by the athletics community.  The award recipients will be honoured at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Trials in Calgary, Alta., which take place June 27-30.
