OTTAWA – Athletics Canada named eight athletes today who will travel to Chiba City in Japan for the 2014 Chiba Ekiden Road Race on November 24. The event is a mixed gender relay where men and women alternate legs to cover the marathon distance of 42.195-kilometres. The race comprises of a men’s 5km, women’s 5km, men’s 10km, women’s 5km, men’s 10km and finally a women’s 7.195km. [Read more…]
The Quebec City Marathon Events over the weekend of the 22nd August 2014, was a huge success. Run over a weekend of warm weather where more than 13000 runners participated in the various events, which saw the bulk of 11000 take part on Sunday, 23rd August. [Read more…]
VANCOUVER, BC (06/22/2014) – Canada’s top marathoners, Dylan Wykes, from Vancouver, and Lanni Marchant took top honours by winning the men’s and women’s races with times of 1:03:51 and 1:13:41 respectively.
It could be said that Lanni Marchant epitomises the ‘loneliness of the long distance runner’ training alone on the roads near her home in Chattanooga, Tennessee using programs emailed from her coach in London, Ontario. [Read more…]

OTTAWA – The first edition of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) World Relays is approaching and Athletics Canada is pleased today to name 20 athletes to the Canadian team.
