Hassan Hirt

Hassan Hirt

Traces of erythropoietin (EPO) were found in sample A of French athlete Hassan Hirt’s urine, who participated Wednesday morning in the  5000m heats at the London Olympics, where he finished 11th in 13’35” 26.

The testing was conducted on August 3, and was analyzed by the laboratory in Lausanne (LAD). The French Agency (AFLD) and the French Athletics Federation (FFA), struggled to locate the athlete to prevent him from going to the Olympic Games as he was training in the desert in southern Morocco.

Amsallem Bernard, president of the FFA and Chief of the French delegation at the Olympics, would be discussing the second positive test, linked to the athlete Gezzar Nordine, a 3000m steeplechase contestant who had also tested positive for EPO.
