Gibbs amazing treble in Brazil

Sally Gibbs collected three gold medals at the championships, adding the W50 10,000m in 37:11.48 to the 5000m won earlier and on the last day of the championships she won the W50 marathon in 2:54:13, the fastest marathon over all the women’s age groups.

Gibbs official time in the 5000m was 17:28.80. Gail Kirkman collected a further gold medal winning the W60 300m hurdles. John Campbell becomes the M50 200m world champion in 23.64 and Elizabeth Wilson won the W50 400m title in 1:02.36.
