Masters Running section update and content
The new forum for the Masters Training created and new users added. Wrote new article to update the Masters section
The article touches on TheEd’s thoughts regarding aerobic capacity training via heart rate zones. All of this laying the platform for Masters Training and what is to come regarding Women’s training. Women fall under the Masters category when reaching the same age however they face even bigger challenges than the diminishing aerobic capacity experienced, in the form of body and other changes.
This is an exciting phase in the Running Information portals development as it coincides with further new projects which are soon to be launched related to Women’s running and particularly covering the area of perimenopause and menopause.
The perimenopause and menopause stage of life
One of the biggest impacts has been TheEd’s wife, Finnish Editor – Piia Doyle (born 1976), approaching the new age category of 50 come 2026.
During the early part of this year, 2025, Piia ran 3 lifetime PB’s over 800m / 2:24, 1500m / 5:00 and 5000m / 19:12 (via Wimbledon ParkRun). This created a great amount of excitement towards the new age category, then came the body changes and the various complications that impact women at this age. Quite alarmingly, I had not experienced this during my years of coaching because none of the older female athletes spoke about this 30 years ago.
So, this area will receive a great deal of our further attention and in the future we shall be writing about how we are dealing and working to provide solutions.
Till later and may we go from strength to strength
yours in running TheEd
